Welcome to 11th grade IB Art with Ms. Cat. Here is my email: cbrooks@lapazschool.org
First, a little bit about me:
I moved to Costa Rica from New Mexico in the United States specifically to work at La Paz. I've been teaching art K-8 for over 13 years and have taught many workshops, after school programs, and museum classes for students. It's my first time teaching IB, so we will be learning together. I look forward to working with you this year.

HAPPY SUMMER EVERYONE! Are you making any art?
Don't forget your summer assignment: 13 pages of your Process Portfolio
You should choose a solid color for your slides. Use Google slides and create the 13 first. Then you can begin adding to them. The purpose of the Process Portfolio is to show growth over the 2 years of IB. You will need to show pictures of your work in development. Each slide should have a balance of images and text. You should explain the process of creating your work and explain your thinking. The more you are able to do this clearly, the more points you will receive from IB. What materials did you use? What techniques did you use? Who were the artists who influenced the projects? You should use the following work your Process Portfolio somewhere: still life charcoal drawings, charcoal portraits, paintings with complementary colors, paper mache project, and printmaking projects (be sure to write as much as you can about the printmaking process- we used linoleum relief printing). Whatever else you include is your choice. Be sure to include you artist pages and Atlanta too! How do the artists you chose connect to your work?
Here are some helpful websites (sorry- you will need to copy and paste)

Here are some helpful websites (sorry- you will need to copy and paste)
http://hcpsibart.weebly.com click on the part that says "Process Portfolio" at the top. Read the requirements and then click on the link to the HL student work example.
